NDC Technologies Exhibits Advanced At-Line Analyzer at International Biomass Conference & Expo 2018 to Precisely Control Moisture Content of Biofuels

NDC Technologies, a leading global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, will be showcasing its InfraLab at-line moisture analyzer for biofuels at this year’s International Biomass Conference & Expo. Visitors to Booth 925 will get a close-up look at how they can benefit from accurate, dependable measurements of woodchips, sawdust and pellets, which translate into significant process efficiencies and savings.

More energy is expended during drying than at almost any other stage in industrial processing. Poor control of the drying process results in wasted energy, higher production costs and out-of-spec products. Traditional gravimetric methods of determining the moisture content (and therefore the calorific value) of the biomass require weighing and then slow heating of samples till they are bone dry, then reweighing and calculating the weight loss, from which the moisture content is then extrapolated.

The InfraLab at-line analyzer rapidly, accurately measures the moisture content of biomass and biofuels. This powerful analyzer is easy to use, requires no special operator skills and takes just 5 seconds to make the analysis. Using multi-wavelength NIR reflection, the InfraLab does not require contact with the product sample. The sample dish is placed on the turntable; the InfraLab automatically recognizes that it has been placed there and begins the analysis.

The InfraLab at-line analyzer is designed to be calibrated to your laboratory method such as Gravimetric Oven or Karl Fischer for moisture. This means that you can enjoy laboratory accuracy without the costs or the time associated with lab methods. Key benefits include:

Improvements to product quality and consistency by allowing more representative process sampling

Significant time and costs savings for routine QC analysis

Requires no special skills for routine use

NDC Technologies will also be exhibiting its PrediktIR on-line moisture gauge. The latest PrediktIR gauge meets the demands of bulk processors looking for a basic on-line moisture measurement solution that is stable and accurate. For over 50 years, NDC Technologies has worked closely with the industry’s leading manufacturers to implement advanced quality control solutions for effectively measuring moisture in products. Over 25,000 moisture gauges installed worldwide across a wide range of applications.
